Hardwood floors are long lasting and easy to maintain if you do it properly. Here are some hardwood floor cleaner recipes and tips for hardwood flooring.
First sweep or vacuum the floor. Then, For each one gallon of warm water, add ingredients from one of the following recipes. Damp mop and scrub in the direction of the grain of the wood to clean the floor.
Recipe #1
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 TBS Castile soap

- 1 cup white household vinegar
Recipe #3
- 1/4 cup borax
- 1/2 teaspoon mild dish detergent (liquid)
Recipe #4
- 1 cup vinegar
- 10 drops peppermint essential oil
Recipe #5
- 1/8 cup mild liquid dish soap
- 1/2 cup vinegar
Recipe #6
- 1 TBS Dr. Bronner’s liquid soap
- 1/8 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brewed black tea
